Life Science Compliance

In the 2nd issue, just published, a theme of reputation is running through several of the articles, beginning with an article written by Dominique Laymand of Bristol-Myers Squibb and José Zamarriego of Spain’s industry body, Farmaindustria, about the key forthcoming changes to the IFPMA Code.
The second article was written by Philippa Foster Back, OBE, of the Institute of Business Ethics. This article discusses how the industry can regain trust and add value by placing ethics at the heart of everything that we do and behaving ethically in all our decisions.
The second in our series of Compliance Basics tutorials by Sue Egan offers some practical advice on writing policies and procedures as a preventative measure within an effective compliance programme.
Elisabethann Wright of Hogan Lovells discusses the outcome of the Nycomed Denmark (Danmark) case and the potential implications beyond diagnostic products.
In the final article for this issue Steven Gray of Compliance Hub contrasts the level of detail available in cases written up by the UK’s MHRA (Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency) compared with those from the UK’s PMCPA (Prescription Medicines Code of Practice Authority).

Next Generation Infrastructures aims to become a major source of knowledge on understanding and shaping the behavior of infrastructure systems. Its broad subject area covers infrastructure systems from all sectors of the public utilities and network industries, so that interactions and interdependencies across infrastructure sectors can be addressed. It especially welcomes interdisciplinary contributions deepening our insight into the relations between the technical complexity and the institutional complexity of infrastructure systems, including the social engineering aspects of multi-actor decision making processes in infrastructure systems.
